do not deal with small businesses that only have wrecks to transfer and do not care if u are left without a car and in middle of nowhere on sunday arvo in qtown when its getting dark and all you gear is in wanaka!

Maybe a little more flexibity in conjunction with the rental company. Would have saved me a lot of trauma to be able to have picked the car up the night before (largely resulting from an incompetent handover on pickup, I missed the 8.45 am ferry to Picton and as a consequence had to drive in the dark to Christchurch - then returned car first thing as directed and spent the day at the airport waiting for the 5pm flight to wgtn due to financial reasons). A reasonable cost for a few extra hours either side would have made for a far less traumatic trip!

from my first experience of doing this, no it was all seamless (5 star max) 1) collect ***** 2) vehicle ****** 3) return and settlement of monies ***** 4) enjoyment of trip ******, oops 6/5 stars

It was a fun and economic way to do our trip. Generous kilometer allowance, a hybrid car, and more than enough time to enjoy the drive. Nothing to improve on.
