the website sent an email showing I had a confirmed booking on a Restricted licence. I travelled all the way to wellington airport and stayed an extra night in Wellington where I paid for a backpackers just because of that error lol. If you feel like reimbursing me $40 for the backpackers I won't say no :)

It would be appreciated if we could know the rental company before we apply for the rental. It makes a difference to how the logistics work out. For example where is the depot in relation to the airport. I have had to walk for half an hour from an airport to the rental depot sometimes, which is most inconvenient. The other challenge is that some minor rental companies are unreliable and will cancel the rental the day before pickup.
